Minutes of the Special Public Meeting of the Board of Commissioners on March 14, 2006 The Special Public Meeting called to order by Chairman Rick Stone at 18:00 at the Lion’s Club Depot in Ione, WA. Present were: Commissioners Stone and Norton, Administrative Assistant Rumelhart and members of the public Dan Smith and Marita Norton. Commissioner Layton was absent due an illness. Commissioners Stone and Norton explained that the Fire District was applying for a USDA loan to help fund the construction of two fire stations. One station will be located in the Rivers Edge area at 21291 N LeClerc Rd southeast of Ione. The other station will be located just south of the Tiger Store at the junction of SR 20 and SR 31, south of Ione. Dan Smith expressed support for the project.
