Minutes of the Continued Meeting of the
Board of Commissioners on February 16, 2004
Meeting called to order by Chairman Stone at 1506 at Administrative Office, Metaline Falls, WA. Present were: Commissioners Stone, Miller and Layton, EMS Training Officer Colleen Miller, Station 22 Lieutenant Johnson, Administrative Assistant Rumelhart and various members of the public.
Old Business:
- Wallis Claim – Commissioner Miller talked with the District’s attorney and the attorney recommended that payment for the claim be sent to Mr. Wallis’s Newport attorney with a letter explaining the payment should be paid out when a signed release has been received. Commissioner Miller moved that the District follow the attorney’s advice. The motion was approved unanimously.
- Paramedic Search – Commissioner Miller has received copies of an employment application and job descriptions from Newport Ambulance and is working on adapting them for the Fire District.
- A discussion was held on building stations 23 & 24.
New Business:
- Ladder 20 – A discussion on the need to keep Ladder 20 was held. It was decided to declare it surplus and try to dispose of it. It will first be offered to Metaline Falls, Metaline and Ione Fire Departments for the amount due on the loan.
- Internal Budget – An internal budget was extensively discussed.
- Continued Meeting – Business was not completed. Commissioner Layton moved that the meeting be continued until Monday February 23rd at 15:00 at the Administrative Office. The motion was approved unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 17:15 to be continued Monday February 23, 2004, 15:00 at the Administrative Office.
